GKN Stromag Periflex® VN Series Highly Flexible Disc Coupling
GKN Stromag Periflex® VN series is German-originated high-performance elastomer disc coupling specially developed for diesel engine transmission systems, with a complete torque range from 160 Nm up to 63,000 Nm. It features linear torsional stiffness, outstanding vibration damping and impact absorption performance, effectively eliminating torsional resonance of power trains and safeguarding engines, gearboxes and auxiliary equipment.
The core axial plug-in tooth structure supports blind assembly. Operators can mount or replace the rubber tyre without removing connected machinery, greatly cutting maintenance time. The coupling allows simultaneous compensation of axial, radial and angular shaft misalignment, lowering assembly precision requirements and reducing bearing wear. Two elastomer choices are available: NR natural rubber for conventional environments (-50℃ to +80℃), and ECO heat-resistant rubber with superior oil and ozone resistance for high-temperature working scenarios (-40℃ to +120℃). Ventilated structure optimizes heat dissipation, realizing long-term maintenance-free operation without regular lubrication.
A full lineup of variants covers diverse installation demands: standard G type for SAE flywheel connection, R type for radial limited space, ON double-hub model for dual-shaft linking, GB version with fail-safe claw for emergency operation, S type with taper lock bushing, VP double-disc design for heavy vibration, and W double-flange coupling. All products comply with DIN ISO 9001 quality standards, ATEX explosion-proof certification for gas and dust hazardous zones, and meet API 671 & marine classification society specifications.
